Login to AnswerWhen a football team loses two regular defenders, it seems reasonable to expect more opportunities for the opposition. However, the replacement players might perform better than expected, and the manager could change the entire formation. How do you evaluate defensive injuries before betting on goals? Do you consider individual player quality or the overall organisation of the defensive line more important?

System structure matters far more than individual names when missing defenders step in. A well disciplined team can park a low block and cover up for second choice center backs without breaking a sweat. In my experience, jumping on over goal lines just because a star defender is out often backfires. Missing starters also leads to sloppy tackles and poor communication, so taking a yellow bet on the replacement defender getting booked is usually a much smarter angle than forcing goal markets.
